Show K. OF P. PURCHASE. The Knights of Pythias have purchased the property of Al D. White, at 2351 Grant avenue, paying $6700 for the place. The lodge owns the adjoining property on the north and now has a most suitable suit-able site for a large building. The purchase of the property is the beginning of a movement which will not end until the local Knights have one of the most substantial lodge buildings in the west. The Elks are said to be planning a structure to be erected this year, which will be a credit to the city. With these two organizations adding their energies to the well started building campaign, there is no reason why the movement should cease until all the orders in Ogden have their own homes and Ogden has received the stirring up of which it hu been so long in need. J In Colorado Springs the Elks have an $80,000 home, built on bonds based on the credit of the united membership. Today the bonds are nearly all redeemed and the beautiful home stands as a monument to the pluck and energy of the Elks of that city. If the Colorado Springs Elks have a bonding capacity of $80,000, cannot the local "Best People" undertake a $40,000 proposition? The Knights are leading the way, and their 'example is a good one, deserving of emulation and worthy of applause. |
