Show BROWN ON STAND IN: OWN DEFENSE Salt Lake, March 15. Hearing of evidence In the trial of Arthur Brown for forgery before Judge T. D Lewis of the district court was concluded this morning with the cross examination examina-tion of Brown, who took the stand In his own behalf yesterday. The case will be In tho hands of the Jury this afternoon. Brown has never before testified, though he has been tried three different dif-ferent times on similar charges. His statement yostcrday was a denial that he forced tho name of A. M Mart-holdl Mart-holdl and that he drew out the money deposited In tho Commercial National bank In Eartholdl'B name. Among Uie witnesses examined yesterday yes-terday afternoon to the good character charac-ter of the prisoner were Harry M. Cashing. Harry Jones, A. H. Crabbe, Howard A. King. Roderick McKen-zie McKen-zie and Max Smith. |
