Mat Henson, the intrepid colored companion OI U"11"10""" ivunen r.. Peary and one of the only two civilized civil-ized men who ever reached the North Pole, pae an Illustrated acco.ini of the memorable trip. Clad In a costume cos-tume of tho man secured In the frozen froz-en land. Henson tells in his own way the story of the trin rmd of his experience ex-perience in accompanying Commander Command-er Peary on the numerous nips in quest of the pole. JIenons story of the trip Is brief and concise and of great educational value. It Is a lecture lec-ture worth I lie price of admission alono hk one would hae in pay that to hear It noon tbe ler-ture platform. It is a treat for the school children nj well as the citizens of 0,Jden and should be heard. Ma Fuller presents ber act ' La S"r-ciere," S"r-ciere," which is far superior to the acts presented by Lole Fuller. Mar-tlnle Mar-tlnle or others." The fantastical dances and spectacles Include "Tbe Butterflies," "The Spirit of the Storm," and "The SorceresR of Vesuvius," Vesu-vius," and are most gracefully executed. exe-cuted. The ceirery and electrical effects ef-fects with the act are complete throughout and add much to the effect of the act The best cycle act over presented before an Ogden audience is that given giv-en by (he Charles Ahearn c cling comedians. From the beginning of the act to the finish, one sits In the seat and holds his sides w-lth laughter. It Is one of those acts which would cure the T.rrt men nt rmiuh nnil would turn a pessimist into an optimist. The members of the troupe ride vory-kind vory-kind of a wheel ono could imagine Aheam Is a comedian of the new type and every move he makes Is a laugh. The act closes with a burlesque bicycle bi-cycle race, motor paced, which should bo Eeen by every porson wbo has ever witnessed races on a saucer track. It is entitled "A Mile in 13 Seconds." and to see Ahearn peddling It behind the motor cycle It looks as though he la going at this paco instead in-stead of at tho rate of a mile nn hour. Lydell and Butterworth have a black face act that Is far superior to many at the local house during the past season. Doth are clever enter-' enter-' tnlners and can slag aJid dance in a most pleasing manner. Lydell's dancing danc-ing Is new, novel nnd rich aud Its grotesqueness and the lightness with which he executes It makes It a hit. The duo received I heir share of the generous applauso of the evening l a Rose and La Ousta, novelty wlrlats, present something now and original In the wire act accompanied by athletic feats. The feature of the act Is the holding by one of the team In his tei th of one end of a slack wire while the other does a number of "stunts." The act, which opened the 9how, was very well received and was one of the hits of the evening Tho Fred Ray Players in "The Noble Roman of Them All." presented present-ed by George fj. Robinson, Leslie Hunt and Miss Constance Windnm, gave an act with a little comedy, but were at a disadvantage aj the act was presented In Ogd-n by the Elks' minstrels min-strels organization and with home talent tal-ent that excelled this company. The Orpheuni Orchestra, under tlw leadership of Edgar Short, has some pleasing musical selections for closing clos-ing week. The orchestra during tho past season has been om- of the features fea-tures of the Orpheutu shows. The Klnodrome pictures are up-to-date and pleasing. The farewell week at the Orphcnm will probably be a record-breaker as for as the attendance attend-ance la concerned for the management manage-ment is offering on of the most expensive ex-pensive bills of the season.
