Show STRONG DEMAND FOR SPRINGVGETABLES In spite of tho inclement weather business was good on the produce market Saturday. There was a hcavy demand fur freeh fruit, and vegetables and strawberries were down to the lowest they have been this . season. 15 cents a box. The berries were good too. There was a good variety of Utah vegetables on the market,' including spinach, early lettuce and radishes, youug onlona and the like. New pota- I toes were on the market In a limited quantity, but dealers easily supplied the demand for them. There was a td supply of fresh tomatoes and they met with an exceedingly ex-ceedingly good sale. Conditions on the meat market showed practically no change, and the demand for meats was not so heavy as was that for vegetables. Poultry was scarce, the price stiff and the demand weak. Creamery butter 6old at ?.0 cents a pound wholesale and at 23 cents .1 pound retail, while strictly fresh eggs commanded 25 cents a dozen retail. |
