Show HAVE INSPECTED SUPPLY DEPOT The committee appointed to Inspect the supply depot of the national forest for-est department at the Ogden forest headquarters has finished Its labors, and the members of the committee from the outside havo returned to tbelr respective districts. The committee has been attending to this Inspection work during the entire week, during which time tho supply department ha been gone over In the most thorough manner. The object of the Investigation has ben to look Into the manner of handling supplies, both In regard to receiving and distributing them among the field employes. It has also been the aim of the committee to carefully InHpect all material used In the forest service, with the view to discarding that which has become obsolete In the needs of the service and recommending the more modern equipment Chairman R4d stated today that the Investigations made by the committee com-mittee could not he made public, and that, as a matter of fact, nothing has hern clone that would be rf particular general Interest. He said also that the supply department had been found to be In good condition, and that very few rocommendatlons would be made. The department has been In vogue so long that It has reached a high standard of proficiency and adaptability, and there Is not much room for Improvement. AH of the supplies for the forest service of the United States are distributed dis-tributed from the ugden depot, and all the purchasing has to be done from this depot. A. M. Smith, the property clerk of the forest service, has charge of the department. |
