Show ACTIVITY IN BUTTE CITY Mines Are Again Running Run-ning at Almost Normal Nor-mal Production Butte. Mont. Feb. 25. Interest la the strike situation here centers about the probablo action of the International In-ternational unions Tfho may bo drawn Into the jurisdiction of the court by the union which walked out last week, and tho old engineers' union, which acknowledged the Jurisdiction of the Western Federation of Miners, Malt Comtrford, general president of tho uufon of steam engineers, who is here from Brooklyn, has said that his organization or-ganization will stand by the strikers. No definite proposition looking toward to-ward settlement h6 yet been made. In the meantime, the companies are filling tho places of the striking hoisting hoist-ing engineers, and operations arc gradually approaching normal. During the 24-hour period, that ended at 7 o'clock this morning, the Amalgamated Copper company properties prop-erties hoisted 8,573 tons of ore. In addition to that, the Clark mines increased in-creased their tonnage and independent concerns were also operating. Today the Tramway and Rarus mines of the Red Metal company were started up. Ore from the East Grey Rock, a Butte & Boston property, is being hoisted, aud the West Grey Rock probably will resume tomorrow. The Buffalo of the Washoe company will start up tomorrow. to-morrow. Men have been added to the force employed at the Washoe concentrator concen-trator at Anaconda, and tho usual tonnage ton-nage of ore is being sent to the Boston & Montana smelter at Great Falls. |
