The merchants of the city aro cooperating co-operating with the mayor, the Weber club and the government enumerat ore In securing an accurate count of tie population of tho city. The work In tho city will continue for two weoks, while It will be ertend-ed ertend-ed over thirty days In the country districts The enumerators will be armed with (plenty of blanks and books of Instructions and also a street hool:, which will indicate every move they aro to make during each day. The street book Includes blanks which roust be filled In, and these will show exactly what the enumerator does each minute of the day. His salary will be gauged upon his activity, If he finds a vacant houso be must record It, or If a family Is out when be goes to the houso it must be duly noted, not only the first time he makes the Tlslt, but each time after that also. If a place Is found closed the enumerator must report to the headquarters and a special speci-al man Is Bent out to Investigate. At the close of each day's work tho enumerator must make a full report yr.d mall It to headquarters In the Dooly block, In Salt Lake, where It will be kept on record and checked up. In the city the enumerator will receive re-ceive 3 cents for each name taken and 10 cents for each cow, horne, sheep or other bead of barnyard stock found In an enclosure.
