Show SUDDEN DEATH OF JACOB HERTZ Jacob Kertz. an old nnd respected citizen of Ogden. died suddenly of diabetes dia-betes this morning at II o'clock, at the family residence on Twenty-fifth street. While the deceased had been ill for a number of weeks, his illness was not considered serious until last night, when he grew suddenly worse. Phjsicians were summoned and spent the entire night at the bedside. The ' man fell Into unconsciousness late in the evening and did not reguiu consciousness con-sciousness before passing away. Jacob Kertz was born In Austria fifty -seven years ago. He came to America when a boy and lived lu New-York New-York for a number of years. Twenty, one vears ago he came to Ogden and engaged in the pawnbrokerage business, busi-ness, lu U'jS be moved to New York, where he remained until 1903, when he returned to Ogden and re-eugaged la his old business. He leaves wife and five children Mrs. M. D. Goldbtcln and Mrs L. Jacobs Ja-cobs cf New York, and Sam. Herman and Nnhan Kertz of Ogden, the latt-r being engage. in business with their father The deceased was a member of the Masons, belonging to the New York lodge. Thi funeral arrangements w not be made until the two daughters are heard from. It is probable that the body will be taken to New York for Interment. |
