Show POLICE GEI CLUES OF LOCAI'FEIiCE" Officer Bob Chambers made a neat pick-up of some more stolen property yesterday and several clues have been obtained which, It Is hoped, will lead to the apprehension and arrest of an organized gang of petty thieves that has undoubtedly been operating in tbl vicinity for some time past Frank Mandy and Homer Knight of the Alamo cafe reported the loss of several articles of clothing yesterday, and Officer Chambers was detailed on tho case. After making the rounds of several pawn shops the officer succeeded suc-ceeded in locating Mandy's suit ot clothes, valued at J40, end a few hours later located a pair of shoes valued at $5 and a pair, or troustrs belonging to Knighl. There has been suspicions of late that a cleverly operated "fence" for stoicn property hej been doing a rushing rush-ing business in thla city for several months, but so carefully hevo the operators op-erators covered their tracks It ba been almost Impossible to locate the gong's whereabouts New disclosures are expected at any time, and It Is rumored that some of tbein will prove startling owing to the prominence ot two of the leaders. |
