Show EXTENSIONS OF CAR LINES SEVENTY-FIVE-MEN AT WORK AT FIVE POINTS. Reducing the Grade on the Washington Washing-ton Avenue Line Big Force of Men on the Canyon Road. Operation on the various street car extensions by the Ogden Rapid Transit Tran-sit company are being pushed with vigor. By Monday night the Twenty-fifth Twenty-fifth street extension of a block and a half will be finished aa far aa grading Is concerned and will be ready for tho immediate laying of the ties and rails. The poles and v. ires are already in place. A force of seventy-five men are hard at work on the Five Points Improvements Improve-ments at which polut the track is belti? lowered from one foot to four and one-half one-half feet for a distance of two blocks. lhl.s lowering of the track ia being done, in anticipation of the Plain City extension and will oliminate a considerable consid-erable grade at that point. Superintendent Superin-tendent Bailey states that the track will be ilown by Saturday night. The Canyon work Ls also progressing progress-ing rapidly, a full force of men being employed on the- various jobs. Tho blasting Is not yet over but the gTado between the mouth of the canyon and Billy Wilson's phice is rapidly nearing completion. Nothing, a-s et, has been done toward extending the grade through tho big rock slide on the Lew-Is Lew-Is property, nor win tbero be until the Utah Light Railway Co. decides upon what action is necessary iu the matter, mat-ter, the slide baing apparently resulted re-sulted from leakage from the pipe lino above the slide. The great mass of rocks, trees and earth still blocks the roadway to the Lewis resort to a depth of fifteen feet or more. |
