Show TRAMPS BEAT DETECTIVE INTO INSENSIBILITY Chicago, April 9. After having ben beaten Into Insensibility and shipped In a box car to Elkhart, Ind., by tramps whom he had been employed to arrest, James Dalton, a special detective de-tective of the Lake Shore railroad, has telegraphed his whereabouts, saying say-ing he will return as soon, as his bruises permit. On Tuesday night, Dalton was ordered to Englewood In pursuit of tramps. Attired In shabby clothes he Joined a gang of seven "hohns" whom he found cooking supper sup-per over an "open fire. His curiosity aroused their suspicions and fJio whole gang attacked him. He was bundled into a freight car bound for Elkhart, where he was found unconscious. |
