Show TALKS OF IRON BLOSSOM MINE J. Fewson Smith Tells of Big Vein in This Tlntic Property. 'T - On account, of erttfeism that has been passed upon him, he says, J. Fewson Smith, Jr., a well known mining min-ing engineer," has made the following statement regarding conditions at the Iron Blossom miDe: . "Through the courtesy of the management man-agement of the Iron Blossom company.' I have been enabled -to keep track of conditions in the mine,-and, knowing these as I do. I am particularly anxious to he either quoted correctly or not at alll. This much is due to the mine and to me. "To those who understand the situation, sit-uation, conditions at the mine, both on the Bnrface and underground, a:e such as to warrant the most sanguine predictions! pre-dictions! while on the other hand there is not one feature which can be successfully suc-cessfully urged as a detriment to the property. "Thp mine at this time is shipping dally 100 tons of ore, and it has the ore and the equipment to double the output out-put if called upon' to do so. "The lode is now open for nearly 500 feet southerly Into the property, and for that entire distance the deposit de-posit is as broad, as deep and as rich to the running foot as it has already been proven to be for the distance of 5,000 feet to the north. "The face of the south drift from the main shaft is at present In the foot wall casing of the ore body, but the last shots yesterday broke through the roof into the clean carbonate ore. "The faulting has. however, had Its effect upon the bedding In which the ore occurs, causing the llmstone to swing towards the west from Its orlg inal southerly course, bringing the Colorado Col-orado lode again parallel with the ore systems on the west as they extend southerly from the fault. This gives Iron Blossom 4,000 feet of the lode yet untouched. - "That the lode will continue without with-out interruption through the Iron Blossom Blos-som property, emerging at its southerly souther-ly limit, none but those who step In where angels fear to tread will question. ques-tion. "There has been faulting of the beds across the Iron Blossom pioperty, but this faulting occurred prior to the deposition of the ore and has caused no dislocation of the parallel ore systems sys-tems lying west of the Colorado lode; therefore it can had no effect upon the Colorado. "And this to say nothing of tho in dependent parallel vein developed in Iron Blossom's old No, 1 shaft, which has been exposed for several hundred feet alone the strike and which con tains god values throughout. "In the fact of such conditions, I feel that It Is just to make a statement state-ment of facts in order that my position may be understood." . i |
