Show VAGRANTS IN THE POLICE COURT TEN OF THEM ARE ORDERED OUT OF TOWN. All Claim to be Workmen Out of Jobs Opium Smokers Forfeit Their Ball Money. At the morning session of police court were many vagrancy cases, a lesult, probably, of the recent Influx of unemployed laborers from sections where work has been closed down by the heavy snows. Lee Bowman, James Mulllns, Harry Holmes and John Ryan composed one party of vags, each of whom pleaded guilty to the charge and received a suspended sentence of 90 days each, provided they either left town or went to work. Two other complaints for vagrancy Included Arch Beaer, Otto Segler, Sam Eckstein and Gustavo Shafer, each of whom pleaded guilty and were given the ame opportunity to get work or leae the city, a 90 day sentence sen-tence being suspended in each case. Frank Stewart would not admit that he was a vagrant but clalnted that ho had work at Bingham canyon, to which point he had Intended going at once. Tho case was ordered continued under a plea of nol guilty. During the trial of other cases, Stewart decided to change his plea to "guilty" provided he was glYen a chance to get out ot town. This the court allowed him to do. Edward Kelly was arraigned on the charge of mendicancy. He pleaded guilty but stated that he was a railroad rail-road man and that it was a custom among railroad men to not hesitate to ask for assistance when down on their luck if they chanced to meet some of their kind enjoying a Joh and prosperity. pros-perity. Dorothy Collins and Jessie Lewis, both colored, charged with smoking opium, did not appear in answer to the charge and their bail, amounting to $10 each, was declared torfelted. G. Jononi, chargod with drunken--ness, did not appear and his ball of $5 was declared forfeited.
