Show CROSS-PETITIONS FOR DIVORCE FILED Edinburg. Jan. The cros3ipe- titions for divorce between Clara Elizabeth Stirling, who was formerly a Miss Taylor of Newark, N. J.. and John Alexander Stirling, Laird of Kip-pendaire, Kip-pendaire, Perthshire, came up for hearing hear-ing today in the court of sessions before, be-fore, Lord Guthrie. Half a dozen noted not-ed lawyers represented various persons per-sons Interested. Including Ixrd Northland North-land and Mrs, Mabel Louise Atherton, the divorced wife of Col. Thomas Ath- i erton, who has been cited as co-respondent in the case. The petition of the wife was heard 1 first. She declared de-clared her marriage had been mo?l happy until in the summer of 190S, Mrs. Atherton came upon the scene. when "everything went to pieces.' In the course of the cross examination, examina-tion, counsel for Mr. Stirling suggested suggest-ed that Lord .Northland was the cause of the trouble. This Mrs. Stirling denied, de-nied, bue subsequently she admitted that she had told her husband la6t July that she loved I-ord Northland. The hearing was then adjourned. |
