Show ATTORNEY GENERAL ASKS CIRCUIT JUDGE TO RESIGN Honolulu, Jan. 14 United States Attorney General Charles B. Bonaparlo has aslted Circuit Judgo A. N. Kepoi-kal Kepoi-kal of Maui, for his resignation, after luvcstlgatlng tho charges filed against tho Jurist by Governor Frear of Hawaii. Ha-waii. These were to the effect that KepoikaJ had borrowed $1,000 from the funds belonging to a ward of the court, giving in exchange his own noto unsecured, unse-cured, which, at the time the c'narges were mad, was over due and unpaid. The ward in question was a Japanese Japan-ese minor, whose father" had died, leaving leav-ing an estate of $2,500. Judge Ke-poikai Ke-poikai appointed a guardian, who converted con-verted the entire estate into cash and it is alleged, the judge borrowed tho $1,000. Since the charges were preferred pre-ferred he has repaid that amount, with interest at the legal rate. |
