Show B1C IRRIGATION PROJECT La Grande Ronde Valley In Oregon to Be Reclaimed. An enterprise looking to the reclamation recla-mation of 20.000 acres of land in La Grande Rondo valley, Oregon, I3 being be-ing fostered and in connection with it the names of Utah men are mentioned. Prominent among these is David Ec-cles, Ec-cles, of Ogden, head of the Amalgamated Amalga-mated Sugar company, which has a factory in La Grande Ronde valley. It is stated that Mr. Eccles will put $400.-000 $400.-000 into the proposition, providing the entire tract of laud is subscribed for by the farmers, at the rate of $20 per acre. After 10 annual installments had beerrpatd, the water right would go with the land. Of the tract 12,000 acres can be readily supplied witn water, and the irrigation of the remainder re-mainder is not considered to be a difficult diffi-cult matter. The water would run down a natural channel from a dam in the La Grande Rondo river, to a point within a short distance from the city j of La Grande. |
