Show OO FUNERAL SERVICES FOR FRED MASSA Tltjrh tributes to the life and eharac ter of Fred Massa were paid at the funeral services held yesterday in the First. Presbyterian church at 2 o'clock The service was a most Impressive one and the church was filled to its capacity with his many friends A i large number of the assemblage were members of the Weber club, of which the deceased was a member. Rev .1 E Carver spoke briefly of the "Immortal Life." and Judpe R Heywood pronounced an eloquent eulogy of the life of the deceased. The music was provided by a string I quartette composed of Salt Lake mu-' mu-' sieians with Arthur Freber as first iolln and MlSE Evelyn Duehler, contralto. con-tralto. The latter rendered two vocal solos, favorites of Mr. Massa, "Sweet Spirit, Hear My Prayer," and "Home to Our Mountains,' from the opera 11 Trovatore by Verdi. The string I quart tte rendered movements of quartettes quar-tettes by Schubert and Beethoven, The musical program was arranged by Squire Coop of Salt Lake. The other I arrangements were In the hands of W illiam Allison and Fred Scriven, all close friends of Mr Massa. nn |
