Show Off TWO DEATHS FHOM INFLUENZA IN MARCH The city health department reports that the cases of smallpox in the city are all of mild form, there being no serious cases of that disease. The cases of influenza are also of mild form. The number of new cases of influenza influen-za for Wednesday was reported as seven. sev-en. In commenting on the Influenza situation this morning a member of the health department stated that there were only, five deahs from the disease during the month of March and that three of those were persons who had been brought to Ogden from outside points for treatment after they had become critical. It is also stated that the firt sv mp toms of the influenza and of smailpox are so much alike thai tin doctors can not diagnose them until after the rash comes out in cases of smailpox. This is given as the reason for smallpox attacking whole families from a single exposure. Some cases are first diagnosed diag-nosed as a mild form of influenza, but in a few davs the patient breaks out with the smallpox rash, but by that time all the members of the family have been exposed to the disease and the members usually all are victim- in the end However, it is staled that little lit-tle discomfort results except during the first few days while the patient is in a fever When the rash comes, the illness is ended. |
