Show Weather for Week Reported Favorable for General Growth Conditions favorable to crop growth were general in tho state last week, but floods in several sections did considerable con-siderable damage, according to tho weekly review of J. Cocil Alter, state meteorologist. The report follows: The weather of tho week was very favorable for crop growth. Temperatures Tempera-tures were slightly above normal, and there were general showers throughout through-out tho state, in many .places heavy. Some grain fields and ranges woro beginning to need moisture and have in consequence been greatly benefited. Tho damp; moderately cool weather during the early stages of growth has) probably been a favorable condition for all the grains. The heavy showers show-ers delayed farm work in some sections, sec-tions, and combined with the melting snows to produce high water in many streams, causing damaging floods in some localities. Largo areas of low-lanff low-lanff pastures and some cultivated fields in Summit, Weber, Morgan, Utah, Beaver and other counties were flooded. Tho damage to crops and property was reported to be rather large west of Provo, at the Lagoon pleasure resort near Fannington, and in the suburbs of Ogden. Beets are coming up to a very excellent stand, 1 and thinning is just starling. Apples,) pears and cherries in Salt Lake and; Utah counties are reported blooming well, but the peach and apricot bloom was very light. Alfalfa is now 8 to 10 inches high and growing rapidly. At Richfield the alfalfa weevil Is beginning be-ginning to cause damage on the higher fields, and many acres will be sprayed. Feed conditions on tho ranges throughout the district are now good and improving and stock are gaining in flesh. Highways were damaged in many places by the heavy rains and by over-i over-i flowing creeks. Numerous washouts (occurred between Morgan and Hene-jfcr. Hene-jfcr. The road from Nephi to the San-.peto San-.peto valley was washed badly. At I Fannington there was flooding of ; roads and electric railroad tracks. jRoads are good in tho Price district Afton, Wyo., conditions good, losses slight Elko, Nev., stock and range good. Logan, Utah, weather excellent for range. McGill, Nev., range and cattle good. Montpelier, Idaho, .weather favorable. favora-ble. Oakley, Idaho, all conditions improved. im-proved.
