Show CALL POLICE RESERVES TO QUELL DISTURBANCE NEW YORK, May 28. Police reserves, re-serves, summoned from two stations to quell disturbances on West 34th street alleged to have been caused by striking barbers, arrested seventeen on the charge that they spat in the face of two aged barbers and their customers in the midst of a shave. The seventeen were forced into an empty storo nearby at the point of pistols before they surrendered. The two customers, still covered with lather, fled. Those arrested were fined $2 each. |
