Show NOT DRUNK NOW, DRUNK YET, HE INFORMS JUDGE "No, I'm not drunk, no I'm drunk yet." John Smith, who appeared ap-peared before the city court on a medicancy charge told Judge D. R. Roberts this morning, in answer to an inquiry jf ho had been drinking. Smith, it appeared, had asked an officer for the price of a meal yesterday. yes-terday. He appeared to be in a dazed condition in tho city court and exhibited ex-hibited a tendency to drop off to sleep. During the course of his examination exami-nation he said that he had not gotten got-ten over being drunk. Although a plea of not guilty was entered by Smith, Judge D. R. Roberts found the defendant guilty guil-ty and sentenced him to ten days in the city jail. oo |
