McKay will continue through the coming year as president of the Utah State Farm Bureau organization, as the result of an election hold at the final session of the state organization organi-zation yesterday. David N. Heal of Ephraim was chosen chos-en vice .president, and Lee R. Taylor of Payson was re-elected secretary. H. E. Beck of Delta was re-elected as treasurer, John F. Burton of Garland was chosen national representative. A discussion of sugar beet prices was continued from the day before but no statements as to what is re-igarded re-igarded as a fair price for sugar'beets was made. Just before adjournment, President, McKay called attention to the work . i accomplished during recent months by the bureau's commercial agent, J. Ed-1 ! ward Taylor. He related the many i benefits that farmers of the state hadj j derived through the efforts of the farm bureau agent. Mr. Taylor will j 'continue in his position. j Much credit was given the Utah Ag Iricultural college which, through coun- 1 ty agents, demonstration agents, and other representatives, had greatly assisted as-sisted farmers throughout the 9tates Among the important resolutions Liken up at the meeting, the state farm bureau pledged Its support to the Utah educational campaign and com-I com-I mended the establishing of agricul tural courses in the schools of tho i state. ., i j It was suggested at the meeting that the name of tho organization be 1 changed to Farm and Home Bureau. J The effort was well supported but ; consideration of the commercial char acter of the organization resulted in the rejection of the proposal. The livestock committee gave its approval to the introduction of better bet-ter strains of cattle and horses and also indorsed a movement for the standardizing of stock feeds. |
