The ballots of the ten thousand girl telephone tele-phone operators in Pacific coasx states on the question of taking steps to enforce a demand for a wage In- I crease are to be canvassed here today, to-day, it ws announced by Pacific district dis-trict headquarters of the international Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. The operators seek an increase in their maximum wage from $l!0.50 a week, obtainable after five years' service, to $4 a day, obtainable after three years' service. The minimum wpie, S2 a day, would not be affected by their demands. . j The five ' thousand telephone elec-; j trical workers in U;e same states have 'voted to enforce, it possible, their de-, minds for a wage raise to $7 a day. . Miss Julia O'Connor, -head of the na-( tional organization of telephone operators. oper-ators. Is expected here in a few days to take final action on the vote. 'James P.
