Show PICTURESQUE GROUP DE PORTUGUESE STOP BE Mee5ter, when da next train for San Francis!:? This question, oft repeated, almost resulted in the injury of several Portuguese Por-tuguese travelers at the Union Station this morning. The "man-in-grey" stated stat-ed that one askod him the same question ques-tion no less than 15 times. About forty ni"n from Portugal arrived ar-rived in Ogden today, bound for San Francisco. They had a car of their own. Their dress was picturesque, not only in cut, but in color. Skimpy trousers, with short, tight coats and little hats evidently form the prevailing prevail-ing style in Portugal. Trousers ot large while and black checks, also seemed to be favored by a number of the party. Upon arriving, the party dashed across the street to a store where j they bought a quantity of ham bologna j Vienna loaves, and "onions. Several were evidently afraid of influenza, and carefully draped vari-colored shawls about their head and shoulders, before venturing across the street. Fear or missing their train caused tho Portuguese Por-tuguese to hurry, and in rushing- for the station with a couple of Vienna loaves undfr his arm. one of the party lost a carpet slipper which he was wearing. |
