Show GRAVE OF PRESIDENT LORENZO SNOW TO BE CM BRIGHAM CITY. Oct. 16. At the last meeting of the city council Engineer Engi-neer H. C. Carver submitted a detailed de-tailed report on paving district No. 6 which was unanimously accepted by the council. Warrants were ordered drawn in favor of the contractors, Wheelwright Construction company of Ogden, for a total of $1,1,781.01, in payment pay-ment for the work In this paving district. dis-trict. Of this amount $1,75-1.13 is for the city's portion of tho improvements and the balance Is to be taxed against the abutting property. It has been proposed b' local church officials that Brigham City as a municipality assume chargo of the hurlal lot In the city ceinetery wherein the remains of President Lorenzo Snow are Interred, and that the lot be beautified and be made a suitable memorial to the founder of Brigham City, and that the plot be forever maintained by the city as a mark of respect to tho memory of the once prominent community builder. Representing Repre-senting the. stake presidency at the! last council meeting wore Counselors Victor E. Madsen and Joseph N. Stohl. Tho matter was taken under advisement advise-ment by the council. It is reported here that work is progressing pro-gressing rapidly on tho big dams in Devil's Gate being built by tho Brigham Brig-ham Reclamation company under tho supervision of Engineer A. K. Chat-field. Chat-field. The main dam will be completed com-pleted in time' to Impound tho flood water of next spring, whlhc will bo used for Irrigation purposes on this side of tho mountains. It Is likely that the water will soon be plaoed on the market. |
