S CZi El Tr i s f ; Mrs. Ezra Clark Rich President of the Martha Society Martha Society Sets New Year's Eve as Date for Annual Dancing Party Now Year's Is the dalo sot for the annual an-nual ball of tho Martha socioty of Ogden Og-den and Ogdentios are looking forward to tho largest and really most delightful delight-ful event given In tho city for some time. This year's event will probably outclass former affairs inasmuch as tho war is now over and there will bo mora inclination toward social affairs. Tho Berthaua with its lovely settings set-tings will, of course, bo used and plans aro being made by the officers and members of tho society to leave nothing noth-ing undone which will tend to make tho ball a complote success, not only as a social event but financially, as several charitable socletlos of tho city are dependent upon the money eocurod through this dancing party. The Martha Mar-tha society's day nursery, on Washington Washing-ton avenue and Elizabeth street, Is carried car-ried on dally at considerable expense and la largoly dependent upon the funds derived from tho annual ball, liberal donations from members of the socfrty and other interested and plill-anthropically plill-anthropically inclined citizens of Ogden. Og-den. , As soon as tho present epidemic of influenza is downed, the officers of the socioty and members will begin an active campaign for the selling of tickets for the dance and other arrangements ar-rangements will be carried out. Mrs. Ezra Clark Rich, president, with her ablo assistants, Mrs. E. O. Wattis, vico president; Mrs. J. E. Wright, second sec-ond vice presidont; Mrs, Thompson Corn, secretary, and Mrs. W. C. Wright, treasurer, will leave nothing undone which will make the ball a most elaborate one. Not only will the party on New Year's evo be a benefit affair for tho Martha socioty charities but tho homecoming home-coming of tho Utah boys will be fittingly fit-tingly celebrated and undoubtedly there will be a largo number of home boys who have seen service overseas and -who aro now being mustered out, present to enjoy the event. The year 1919, with its bright prospects for the entlro world, will bo most appropriately appropri-ately ushered in. READY TO KNIT. The chairman of tho Red Cross unit of tho Neighbors of Woodcraft, No. 681, of this city, announcos that there is now a sufficiency of yarn on hand to supply all Neighbors and a request Is made that all members call at tho home of Mrs. Francis Huss, 215S Adapts avenue, and procure their share. Mr. Paul L. Bcemor and mother have as their houso guest, sister of .Mr. Beemer, Mrs. K. B. Holemau of Tucson, Tuc-son, Arlzonn. Mrs.. Holomnn stopped enrouto from Arizona, at San Francisco, whero she visited relatives and also attended the wedding of a friend at Oakland, Cal. RETURNS FROM THE EAST. Miss Nora Dunn, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Dunn, returned during tho week from Washington, D. C, where she has been doing special government gov-ernment work for tho past several months. Miss Dunn has a host of friends in this city who will welcome her return re-turn after her prolonged service at the nation's capital. WILL LEAVE FOR ILLINOIS Mrs. Lowis Fegan and four children of 1632 Mcintosh avenue, will shortly leave for an extended visit with Mrs. Fcgan's parents at Harrisburg, 111. They recently roturned from Denver whore Mr. Fegan was buried, following follow-ing his death from influenza on November No-vember 3. Mr. Fegan was for many years chief mechanic at tho Proudfit Bicyclo and Phonograph establishment .known in Ogden and a much valued man by his omployers. -Mrs. Fegan and the chil- r dren are leaving a host of friends , Bill throughout the city. jsjjlj FROM SAN FRANCISCO. ffll Mr and Mrs. Herbert S.
