Show FIRST FIE DRILL II BRIM SCHOOL BRIGHAM CITY, Oot. 10. County Agent Robert H. Stewart, scout master of the First ward scout organization, has sent' out a request for overy boy Bcout in his district to meet at the First ward chapel Saturday morning at 8 o'clock to accompany the scouts on a day's hike. Mr. Stewart plans to keep the boys out all dny, but has not announced just where the hike will be taken. A movement is on foot here to establish a malo glee club to be composed com-posed of not less than seventy members. mem-bers. Shirley Horsley, teacher of art in the high school, Is the chief pro-motor pro-motor and plans to assemble all the best male talent in tho city and to glvo tho singers a thorough training. Tho first fire drill to be given in a local Bchool was hold at the Central Cen-tral school yesterday under the direction direc-tion of Fire Chief Peter Jensen, assisted as-sisted by Principal A. C. Olsen and other members of the teaching staff. It requires just two minutes and 36 seconds to clear the building. The Central school has three floors and twelve rooms and an enrollment of 567 pupils. The drill was unknown to the children and when the fire alarm -was sounded everyone was astir in a second, sec-ond, and under the direction of the teachers the pupils were safely landed down the fire escapes nnd through the exits in the time stated. Tho children did not know what It -was all about until they wero all on the outside of the building. |
