Show STATE EDITORS ARE GUESTS AT BANQUET - SALT LAKE, April 9 - A banquet was tendered the country editors of Utah by the Western Newspaper I'nion last night in the gold and blue room at the Commercial club, about twenty-eight being in attendance. No set speeches were made, many of those present infoimally giving their ideas as to the proper conduct of a country newspaper and some ezpi n ences therewith. Last night's banquet was held in connection With the annual conention of the Utah State Press association which opened its niorninc session it the headquarters of the Franklin club in the Atlas block Heber J Grant, who was scheduled to talk was unable to appear George Creel, national censor, was the object ot serious attaok because, be-cause, it was charged, he forever tells the newspaper men what not to print, but never indicates what they may prihl . Mr. Dayis was clinging to a ladder I on the side of the car and leaned cut. Ibis head coming in contact with a telephone pole. Which knocked him to the ground. He was brought lo tbe Provo General hospital in an uncon- scious condition. Davis suffered a severe scalp wound . and concussion of the brain.
