Show LETTER ADDRESSED 10 . Iffl-ELECT By . TIE MAYOR . With the courtliness of a Southern colonel and a good loser, Mayor A. R. Heywood this morning addressed a personal letter to Mayor-elect T. Samuel Sam-uel Browning offering his ofTlces in the city hall to the incoming city executive. execu-tive. The letter is dated at tho .City hall and is as follows: "If it be your pleasure, it will be quite agreeable to mo for you at once to take possession of the rooms set apart for the Mayor in the City hall building. For the few remaining days that I will be in offlce, a very small portion will be all that is necessary for ray convenience. With highest esteem, etc." It is expected that the Mayor-elect will reply in similar vein. It Is probable, prob-able, however, that the Mayor-elect will not accept the offer in that he is experienced in the conduct of city affairs, having served as commissioner and councilman, and will not need to acquaint himself with details connected connect-ed with the office. Mayor Heywood's administration ends next Monday. He will make his final financial report to the board of commissioners at their regular meet-ting meet-ting tonight. oo |
