Show EMM CRT KITES The Relief society organizations in Box Elder stake sent out 600 pounds of dried fruit to the soldier boys from this ke as a Christmas gift. The fruit had been gathered during the summer purposely and was well prepared. D. L. Reeder, a prominent merchant in this city, is laid up with an injured tne result of stepping on a rustv nail a few days ago. The wound has shown little sign of healing. Prominent men of the countv are busy these days gathering apples to include in Utah's allotment for the soldiers sol-diers in France. The work in this country is being handled by David Holmgren of Tremonton. who is taking tak-ing the northern end of the county and John C. Knudson of this citv. The apples ap-ples will be stored in Tremonton where they will be sorted and packed when called for by the state committee. Grace, the little daughter of Councilman Council-man and Mrs. R. A. Madson, fell out of a highchair a day or two ago and received an ugly cut over the right eye wnich required several stitches to mend. E. B. Mathlas, of the Mathias Bros., grocery, struck his left foot with an axe a day or two ago, breaking a small bone in the Instep. He is compelled to walk with the aid of crutches. RED CROSS DRIVE. BRIGHAM CITY, Dec. 31. Box Elder El-der county's Red Cross drive netted 9-3 new members in the districts so far reported, and when all have been heard from the number will go considerably consid-erably over the 1000 mark. The count in the various districts shows the following fol-lowing number of members. First ward, Mrs. Fred J. Holton, chairman, 58: second ward, Mrs. H. M. Figgins, chairman, 4S;. third ward, Miss Maud Forsgren. chairman, 103; fourth ward, Mrs. John W. Peters, chairman, 87;' general canvass, 46; Tremonton, 250; Promontory Point. 15; Bear River City, 47; Corinne, 70; Collinston, Mrs. G. G. Sweeten, chairman, 43; Honeyville, Mrs. Thomas Wheatley, chairman, 58. |
