Show iSBSTAIUS I TO THE MILITARY I DICE . I Come misunderstanding has arisen, mm in the public mind on account of the H advertisement concorning the mili tary dance to be given In Ogden on January 23rd for the benefit of the Red Cross funds. Some of the pub- mmM llshcd articles state that the money 'MMM raised at this benefit dance is to be MmM turned over to Rev. John E. Carver, M-M to be disbursed in accordance with IH directions of the parties arranging for the affair. tMMM This mothod would be contrary to vMwM tho chapter under whioh the Red mmM Cross chapter operates, and which strictly provides in matters of this mM kind that all funds have to be turned mwM Into the Red Cross treasury to be disbursed ' through tho regular chap- vMwm ter committee without any conditions Mwm whatever As practically all of the patrons and vMwm patronesses for the event named in 'Mm the published articles are workers in Mw the Red Cross, it appeared that thia vMwM rule was being violated. It Is stated, 'fMwM , however, that the rule will be strictly mwM . adhered to and that there is no in- jMwM I tention to handle this fund in any vMwM manner other than is consistent with sMwm the chaptor rules. The entire pro- Mwi ! ceeds will be turned over to John tMwm Watson, the treasurer of the Ogden Mm chapter, and "used for Red Cross re- lief work. H It goes without saying, ,of course, JMwM that if the doners request that a por- vMwm Hon. .pf it go toward relief of any sol- Mm dior'Sr.farally who may need aid, such Tcquest will undoubtedly be given tMMm due consideration by those in charge Mw of disbursements.
