Trenches on a front of two and a half miles, running from south of the St. Pierre-Vaast wood to north of the village vil-lage of Sailllsel, have been occupied. Southeast of Arras the Germans entered en-tered British trenches. The communication commun-ication Bays: "The area of the enemy's withdrawal withdraw-al has extended toward the south. We have occupied his trenches on a front of two aud one-half miles from south of the St. PieiTe-Vaast wood to north of the village of Sallllsel." "Early this morning a strong enemy counter-attack east of Achlet Le Petit was successfully beaten off by our troops. We have improved our position posi-tion in this neighborhood. "This morning, after a heavy bombardment, bom-bardment, the enemy succeeded in entering en-tering our trenches southeast of Arras. Ar-ras. A few of our men are missing.
