Show MM L STEWART IS CALLED B, DEATH, William Lyle Stewart died last night at the family residence. 2451 Talor, avenue, of anemia, following an illness Ol two years. He is survived by his wife and the following chldren: Mrs. Nellln Folkman, Warren; William T Stewart, Victor. Idaho; Daniel C. and J. Frank Stewart. Warren, Archibald Nettie, Esther. Mary, Effie and Ruth Stewart, Ogden. Mr. Stewart was born in Glasgow. . w.vj, iwiruiuKi i3, io?o, ine son of Archibald and Esther Lvle Stewart I He emigrated to Ftah In 1854 as a I Mormon convert, with other members Of the family, and his mother died On the journey across the plains. The family settled in Salt Lake City and later the decedent moved to Plain City, , where he resided for a number of years. j In 1872 he was married to Sarrah Jane Thompson and in 1888 responded I to a call on a mission to Great Britain. Brit-ain. Returning in 1890, he was chos-en chos-en bishop of the Warren ward, which position he held until 1909. when he moved to Ogden. Since that time he has resided In this city. For several years Mr. Stewart was a counselor to President Henry F. McCune of the Weber We-ber stake high priests' quorum and also labored two years in the Sail Lake temple. His entire life in Utah was passed in the doing of good, being always active as a sincere member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Latter-Day Saints. He assisted in the settling of the southern part of the state particularly and aided many newcomers to lay the foundation of a future home. Funeral services will be held Sundav at 1 p. m. in the Twelfth ward meeting meet-ing house, Bishop T. B. Wheelwright presiding. Remains lie in state Saturday Sat-urday afternoon and Sunday morning in the home. oo |
