Show LUCAS QUINTET DOWNS GRANITE Salt Lake, Jan. 19. The Luca8 basketball bas-ketball team continued Its winning streak last night of overwhelming tho hoop tossers from Granite High 1 school. The Lucas five had piled up' the impressive total of 56 points when the final whistle blew, while their opponents had been able to score but 13. Last night's victory was the third in a row for tho grocerymen, who de-rented de-rented the Y. M. C. A. SUckers two weeks ago and the Jordan High school last week. M. Schatz, right forward, and Erick. fori, right guard, were the satellites ! for tho Lucas team. M. Schatz threw nine baskets from the field and tossed the ball through the ring six times from the foul ilne. Erickson scored six field baskets and his defensive work was of a high order. Hopfen-beck. Hopfen-beck. center for the Granite boys, was the leading light on the vanquished team. He was In the game every minute min-ute nnd succeeded in tossing two field baskets and two free throws out of i three attempts A preliminary game was played bv the Hurllngton team and the Winged C team, the former winning l the score of 29 to 8. |
