Dispatches Dis-patches reaching London describe the operations which resulted In the capture cap-ture by the entente allied forces of Fiorina, Macedonia. According to Reuter's SalonikI correspondent, cor-respondent, the Bulgarians, in extending extend-ing their line so far south as the region reg-ion of Lake Ostrovo with limited forces played a bold but dangerous game. Success would have compromised comprom-ised the whole entente allied line, but lack of success was bound to prove costly by Jeopardizing the whole Bulgarian Bul-garian right The first wavering among tho Bulgarians, Bul-garians, says tho dispatch, was caused by the unexpected pressure of the French and Russians on their extreme flank, and the Serbians, profiting by this indecision, attacked energetically on the twelfth and thirteenth. At first tho Serbian infantry made little Impression on the well-entrenched Bulgarians, Bul-garians, but after a strong bombardment bombard-ment with high oxploslves tho Serbians Serb-ians carried line after line of trenches and compelled the Bulgarians to abandon the whole of their advanced position along tho Malkanidzo range. The whole Bulgarian right wing fell back and the entente allies obtained ob-tained command of the ranges dominating dom-inating tho Fiorina plain. An Athens dispatch to the Exchange Telegraph company describes tho later phases of tho concentration of the attack on Fiorina, which was carried out with the greatest secrecy. The contingents were divided Into three parts in a converging movement to connect at Fiorina, The Russians started from Vorrla, southwest of SalonikI Sa-lonikI and proceeded by forced marches. A French column was directed di-rected against tho samo objective, while the Serbians in the region of Horovltz were ordered to repel tho Bulgarians from tho heights in the vicinity of Ekshisu and Potroskou. The Bulgarians were decimated and fled, leaving everything behind. The road to Monastir, the dispatch adds, now is free and it is safe to predict that the entente allies will meet with little resistance in taking the town. |
