MUSH IS CULLED BY DEATH George Josiah Marsh, one of Og-den Og-den s oldest residents and legal prac-tioners, prac-tioners, died last night at the residence resi-dence of his daughter, Mrs. P. R. Ileed, of pleural pneumonia. He had been ill eight days. Mr. Marsh was born in Chautauqua county. New York, April 15, 1830, the son of Josiah and Sally Powell Marsh. He was baptized bap-tized into the Mormon church at Springfield, 111., in February, 1843. The family left Nauvoo with the first pioneers in 1846, but did not reach Utah until September 15, 1852. Mr. Marsh was married to Jane R. Andrews An-drews at Salt Lake City, in February, 1851. They settled in Weber county and the deceased had lived In this community ever since. His wife died several years ago. Mr. Marsh was one of the county's best known men, having practiced law in this part of tho state for the past 39 years. In early days, he acted as claim agent and attorney for a seven-year seven-year period. He Is survived by the following children: Mrs. Jane K. Wright and Mrs. F. D. Higginbotham, Salt Lako City; Josiah Marsh, Mrs. Joseph Hubbard and David Marsh, Willard, Utah, and Mrs. Heed of Og-den. Og-den. Twenty-five grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also survive. sur-vive. The funeral announcements will be made later. oo |
