Show oo SPEEDING IS IRE CAUSE OF ARRESTS Chester Shafer of 427 Twenty-seventh street, forfeited $10 ball in the municipal court this morning. He was taken into custody last' night at Adams Ad-ams avenuo and Twenty-fifth street by Officer George Covey, on a charge of speeding on a motorcycle. Riley McCoy, found guilty of disturbing dis-turbing the peace, was sentenced to serve five days in jail. A like sentence sen-tence was given James Clark and William Smith, plain drunks. James Van der Werff was found guilty oi battery and given a 30-day suspended sentence. According to tne testimony, testi-mony, Van der Werff struck H. W. Beckett, a youth, following a neighborhood neigh-borhood quarrel. Carl Rasmussen was tried on the charge of driving an automobile at an unreasonable rate of speed and his case was taken under advisement. oo |
