Show CITY IS BORROWING MONEY FROM BANKS At a meeting of the city commissioners commis-sioners last night, an authorization was given for the borrowing of $20,- 000 from the Security State bank, and tho transferring, as a loan, of $5 000 from the waterworks fund to 'the general fund for Immediate use Tho payroll of $14,901.28 for tho month of August was approved. Several petitions Were read from residents desiring the construction of sidewalks in different sections of the city. The petitions were acted upon favorably, but work on the actual building will be deferred until next spring because of tho extensive public pub-lic improvements already under way. The sections in which sidewalks and sewers will bo laid are as follows: Sidewalk on Capital avenue between Quincy and Jackson; sidewalk on Jackson avenuo between .Twentieth and Twenty-first streets; sidewalk on Wall avenuo between Thirty-first and Thirty-third streets; sewer on Harrison Har-rison avenuo between Capital avenue and Twenty-sixth street, oo |
