Show Chicago Grain Chicago, Feb. 19. Liberal receipts northwest had a bearish effect today on wheat. A little firmness which at the outset resulted from sympathy with higher quotations at Liverpool, was not of a lasting sort Bears hero found that the market was poorly supported sup-ported and they pressed the selling side. Opening prices, which ranged from the same as yesterday's finish to l-4c higher with May at $1.29 7-8 to 1.30 1-8 and July at S1.24 to $1.24 1-8, were followed by a substantial substan-tial decline all around. Corn eased off with wheat. Trade was mainly of a local character. After Aft-er opening unchanged to l-8c lower, the market underwent a moderate general sag. Oats had no independent action. Depression De-pression resulted from the weakness of other grain. Strength developed in provisions on account of a speculative demand for lard. Selling was scattered. The wheat close was heavy, 1 1-4 to 2 1-4 2 34c net lower with May at $1.27 1-21.27 5-8 and July at S1.22 5-81.22 3-4. The corn close was weak at a loss of 1 1-81 1-4 to 1 l-2c net |
