Such a quarantino has been declared declar-ed by the county commissioners of Boxelder county, where rabies has been Introduced. Boxelder county has become quite a hotbed of rabies. Each succeeding specimen of dead coyote sent in to tho state bacteriologist bacteri-ologist from that county has been found to show unmistakable signs of rabies. Thus far Boxelder county is the only one to develop genuine cases of "rabies. Health authorities belLevie, however, that there Is great danger of other counties adjacent to tho Nevada Ne-vada and Idaho boundaries becoming Infected unless the county officials co-operate In precautionary methods. Health officials say that local authorities au-thorities are slow to act until tho epidemic epi-demic Is upon them, many persons not realizing that rabies is really hydrophobia hy-drophobia a madnoss that means death to all animals and human beings be-ings bitten by Infected creatures, the Pasteur treatment being the only known method of saving human lifo after the infection has taken place. |
