Show BRASHEAR DENIES HE ENTERED flOOli HOUSE H. L. Brashear was hound over to the district court yesterday afternoon by Municipal Judge George S. Barker to stand trial on the charge of having carnal knowledge of Yolande Jewell, a 14-year-old girl. The circumstances in the case as brought out In the prosecution with the exception of the testimony of J. H. Maitia, were reviewed re-viewed in yesterday's Standard. Maitia Mai-tia is the proprietor of the Royal Rooming house, 2522 Wall avenue, and his testimony was to the effect that he rented a room to Brashear on the night of January 19 and saw the defendant and the girl enter, it. The defendant was placed on the witness stand and his testimony, with the exception of that relating to entering en-tering of the rooming house and what occurred there, was largely corroborative corrobor-ative of that submitted yesterday by the girl. He positively denied, however, how-ever, entering the rooming house, declaring de-claring that he left the girl at an uptown up-town drug store and returned to his home. |
