Show PAT QWGLETC STOMACH WILL BE TESTED BY EXPERTS FOR POISON County Attorney to File Charges of Murder Against Two or More Persons Frank Philbrook Calls on a Brother in Wisconsin to Come to His Aid Wife Clings to Her Husband. While county attorney Joseph E. Evans has not definitely decided on the number of persons who will be oharged with the murder of Patrick Quigley, It is certain that complaints will be filed with the Municipal court in the course of a few days. There Is no question but that Frank Philbrook and James O'Brien will be charged with tho crime and there is a possibility that Mrs. Fannie Dawson will be one of the defendants. There is also a possibility that Patrick Flynn and R. Powers will be implicated in the charges. The county board of commissioners today authorized the county attorney to employ an expert to make a chemical chemi-cal test of Qulgley's stomach and in-otstines in-otstines for poison and this will be done at an early time. It is said that State Chemist Herman Harmes will be employed to assist county physician, physi-cian, Dr. A. A. Robinson, in making tho test. The expense of the test will be about $150, aB stated by Mr. Harmes. r . Philbrook, who is in the county Jail, remains reticent respecting the murd er of old man Quigley and will nave nothing to say about the case. His wife has been In consultation with him and (she evidently intends to stand by him and assist him in a defense. de-fense. The Philbrooks made known today that Mr. Philbrook has a brother, broth-er, W. J. Philbrook, at Rockmount, Wis., to whom he has sent word to come to Ogden immediately, telling him of his serious trouble. H. E. Jeffrey, the first suspect arrested ar-rested in connection "with the alleged murder of Quigley, was released from the custody of the police today. A thorough Investigation of his case, under the direction of Detective Robert Rob-ert Burk, revealed no evidence upon which he could be held. Jeffrey was arrested Wednesday afternoon, on suspicion of being tho man known, as "Whltey," who was said to have been In the company of Quigley Tuesday night This suspicion suspi-cion was quashed with the arrest of James O'Brien, who admitted being the man known as "Whltey." In line with the circumstances In the Quigley case, are two other Btrange cases, those of the poisoning of Henry Grayson In Ogden more than two months ago and of the disappearance disappear-ance of Ross Alexander Porter, the last trace of whom was found by hiB sister on tho register of a local rooming room-ing house. Grayson recovered from the effects of the poison that he had taken into his system and returned to his homo in the east, but nothing has been heard of Porter, though his sis-tor sis-tor searched for him over half the continent. |
