Show MRS. L. W. SHURTLIFF IS GALLED B DEATH f Mrs. Fmily M. Shurtllff, wife of. President Iewis W. Shurtliff of the Weber Stake, died last night at the' family residence, xr;: Twenty fourth , street, of arterial sclerosis. She had been ill many months, but her death j came as a big surprise and was a great shock to her many Ogden friends. Mrs. Shurtliff was born at Swon-wick, Swon-wick, Derbyshire, England, December 16, 1852, the daughter of William R. anJ Eliza Walnwrlghf. She joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints In her early childhood and j came to Utah in 1870. She lived first 1 in Salt Lake City, but, after her mar-, riago in 1872 to President Shurtliff moved to Ogden and had lived in Hits city ever since. During her residence here, she was a prominent church worker and In hr calling as president of the Weber stake Relief societies and in other offices, her activities along direct humanitarian lines almost equalled those- of her husband In other linns of church work. J In addition to the husband, the following fol-lowing children survive: H. H. Shurtliff, Unman A Shurtliff. Franklin E. Shurtliff and Mrs. Umilsa Richardson of Ogden; John W. Shuit-liff Shuit-liff of Salt Lake City and Mrs. Myra Richardson of Dogan. A large number num-ber of grandchildren and several great-grandchildren also survive. The funeral services will be held I at 2 o'clock Sunday afternoon, In the Tabernacle, and the Tabernacle choir will furnish the music oo |
