Show TRAIN WRECKER SENT TO ASYLUM Provo. Aug. 23. Harry G Ilontz, who admitted that he wrecked a Denver Den-ver & Rio Grande passenger train near Sprlngville on August 2, was this evening committed to the State Mental Men-tal hospital here by Judge A. B. Morgan. Mor-gan. Tho examination was made by Doctors Walter T. Hasler and A. J. Stewart, testimony being given by Hontz and by Thomas Burge, special agent for tho railroad. Three hours wero taken up by the examination. Hontz told a remarkablo story of his career. He said he was 34 years of age and that soventeen years of that time had been spent In rcforma-torics rcforma-torics and prisons. He declared that two stato prison terms had been served by him for offenses of which he had not been guilty, but that he was culpable In all tho others. It was at the ago of IS years, In Pennsylvania, that.be was first sent to a reformatory, declared Hontz. and that since that time ho had been cou-i cou-i I ' tlnuously In and out of custody. He appears to have a mania for destroying destroy-ing property of railroads, which he holds responsible for bis misfortunes. Ho declared that If sent to tho mental men-tal hospital ho would kill any railway conductor or brakeman who came his way. |
