Show LIVESTOCK HAS TOO HIGH VALUE Railroads Must Correct the Valuations Placed on Western Animals. Washington. Aug. 24 Valuation of cattle, horses and other animals in livestock shipping contracts made by 45 railroads west of Chicago were today declared to be unjust and unreasonable un-reasonable and ordered cancelled by the interstate commerce commission. The commission declared the scheduled sched-uled variations were not representative representa-tive of the average actual allies of the animals shipped. The decision unholds complaints brought and supported by the American Amer-ican National Livestock association the railroad commissions of Iowa, Colorado and South Dakota, the Arizona Ariz-ona corporation commission, the Corn Belt Meat Producers' association the Cattle Raisers' association of Missouri Mis-souri and numerous livestock associa-l tlons and exchanges. I The commission's decision says the Cummins' amendment to the interstate inter-state commerce law "has in effect abolished to interstate commerce the whole system of released rates based on good valuations as distinguished from actual value." New rates were proscribed oo |
