Show LOOKING FORWARD TO THE OPENING OF SCHOOLS The vanguard of the teachers who have been engaged for service In tho city schools during the 1915-1C term will begin to arrive in the alty during the forepart of next week, many of thoso residing. In tho city and others oth-ers now being away on their vacations, vaca-tions, following terms at different summer finishing schools. In all, 19G Instructors have been engaged and they will begin work on Tuesday. September 7, this day having beon set Tor the registration of students. On the Saturday prior to Labor day, the teachors will hold their first meeting lor tho, year and the prellm- wj ' i t 1 r- m inary work will be outlined by Supcr-i intendent J. M Mills. All of the school buildings have been put in good condition for the winter, needed plastering and renovating renovat-ing having been done during the summer. sum-mer. By the partitioning off of the main hall at the Quincy school, another an-other class-room has been made and the study hall at the Central junior high school has been enlarged. The cement walks at the Madison and Washington schools have been widened widen-ed so that the children can march in and out of the buildings without getting get-ting Into the snow and jnud during the winter and spring seasons. |
