Show ACCIDENT STARTS II LOCOMOTIVE Victor Wilbur, a hostler at the local lo-cal Southern Pacific roundhouse, was slightly injured yesterday through, peculiar accident. He had stepped into the cab of one of the engines and leaned out of the window, when his foot slipped and he fell out of the cab. As he was falling his foot caught the engine throttle and pulled it over, starting the engine. As it moved ahead, Wilhur fortunately dropped clear of the wheels and was picked up a few seconds later by workmen. He was given medical at- tention at the emergency hospital and then taken to his home The engine continued on its way. crossing the turntable and plowed j into a freight engine, forcing It through the brick wall The falling brick formed a barrier and the roundhouse round-house men soon stopped the runaway engine's drivers. oo |
