Show Society BETHEL UNION. W. C. T. U. Bethel Union of the W. C. T. U. met Wednesday at the homo of Mrs. Way, 548 Seventeenth street. Following the usual business a literary program of much worth was given, each member of the union giving an article. The prospect of prohibition as viewed by the liquor dealers was discussed by the ladies after which a social hour was enjoyed. PROGRAM ANNOUNCED. The coming appearance of Sibyl Sammis-MacDermid and James G-MacDermid, G-MacDermid, In a recital with the Ogden Og-den Tabernacle choir, has caused more than ordinary Interest among the music loverB of the city, from the fact that both hold high rank among American musicians. Mrs. MacDermid MacDer-mid is a dramatic soprano of note and as Sibyl Sammls, prior to her marriage, mar-riage, made an enviable record as a concert and oratorio singer. Mr MacDermid is one of ine most popular composers of the day, and will act as accompanist for his talented tal-ented wife The program for the event was announced today by Director Direc-tor Joseph Ballantyne of the Tabernacle Taber-nacle choir. CHARACTER BALL. Last evening in the Seventh ward amusement hall the primary teachers of the ward Sunday school gave a character ball A large number of young people in character costumes were present The Ezra Jones or-1 chestra furnished excellent, music. A feature of the entertainment was an exhibition of ten of the latest standardized stand-ardized ballroom dances by Alonzo West and Miss Florence WesL NEDGO CLUB. The Xedgo dub gave a pleasant dancing party at the Royal academy last evening when a number of modern mod-ern dances were enjoyed. AT THIRD WARD HALL. Last evening the Third ward M I A. gave a delightful dancing party in the amusement hall of the ward which was prettily decorated in a color scheme of red, green and white. A program of 21 dances of which the Ostend. gavotte, one-step and hesitation hesita-tion waltz, were speciaj features, was thoroughly enjoyed. Crawford's orchestra or-chestra furnished mualc and delicious fruit punch was served. |
