Show LIVING WAGE IN NEW MK CITY Municipal Board Decides That $1,200 Is Necessary for Year's Salary. New York, Nov. 20 The bureau of standards of the board of estimates, which fixes all salaries In municipal i departments, has decided that $1200 a jear is the Ihing wage in New York City. In a report yesterday to the. board of aldermen, the bureau stated that the $1200 a year salary is taken a the basis for what is termed higher high-er and lower grades of work. The report gives the results of work of nearly a year and officially disapproves of quick action In salary raises.
