Show CHIEF WILL NOT GIVE Jf OFFICE General Carranza Refuses to Abide by Action of Mexican Mexi-can Convention. El Paso, Texas, Nov. 3. General Carranza ln a message received here this afternoon, declared that he would not abide by the action of the Aguas Calientes convention In naming a pro-islonal pro-islonal president. Carranza's statement as received by officials of the constitutionalist consul con-sul general B office here was telegraphed tele-graphed from Puebla. It said: "The convention having not complied com-plied with the conditions that I fixed regarding my retirement from the duties du-ties I am performing as first chief. I have not taken into consideration the resolution of the said convention in regard to their appointment of a president who should take rry place and therefore I still continu to be )i charge of my office "This resolution of mLrte has been supported by the govrnors of Ihe :,ta'es. Among the officials joining in this actlou are Generals Coss. P, Sanchez, A Gonzales, Ernesto Sentos Coy. Pablo Gonzales and all leaders of the division of the northeast.
